Being a marketing guy in a development team made of technical and creative profiles is not always an easy task. You need to prove everyday that you're legitimate

    Pros

Good work-life balance. Not lacking for projects and no mass lay-offs. Opportunity to work on AAA project. Other projects in studio as well.

    Cons

Mostly an in-source for Montreal. Lacking some experience and high skills for certain leadership positions. Projects are seem to be more fiscally oriented rather than quality oriented. Also, the studio has some troubled matching appropriately skilled individuals to certain positions... but not any worse than most other medium-large studios. Pay is relatively lower than other markets/cities.

    Advice to Management

Manage your growth very well, not by projects but production staff. Key positions in the studio must be filled by the right people and remove or change bad fit sooner rather than later. Learn what motivates and nourish people's desire to do good work.

    Pros

The atmosphere is friendly, and people are very relaxed, they are flexible with the working hours...

    Cons

Being flexible with working hours (for the good reason, such as bringing your kids to school), has also a negative side as they expect you to work plenty of extra hours. Management in my offcie are old, not updated and lack of human ressources touch.
