Tough job shop but great learning experience

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Waukegan, IL

ProsWhen I was at Uline, I had a great manager. The IT Department was run professionally and everyone was proud of their work. Lifelong friendships were also made at Uline

ConsThe owners ran the place as their little kingdom and treated most everyone as servants. Employees were fearful of running into the owners during the day because you never knew what their mood was. If your tie (yes even in these days, ties were mandatory) was not tied to their satisfaction, you might be fired on the spot.

Advice to Senior ManagementBack off the draconian methods of management and let those you hired to manage do their jobs without having you stand on their shoulders.

I worked at Uline full-time for more than 3 years

Pros: Great benefits- the company invested in great health coverage for employees as well as a great 401k match.… Cons: Micromanagement gone wild.
