I worked at Uline full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great benefits- the company invested in great health coverage for employees as well as a great 401k match. Fairly flexible schedules were offered as well as a good work/life balance. Employees never have to take work home.

Cons

Micromanagement gone wild. Employees often felt overworked and unappreciated. Many accomplishments went unnoticed, but even the slightest of mistakes was analyzed under a microscope and scarred your performance statistics. Not a lot of room for advancement.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more confidence in your employees and stop micromanaging. Also, spend more time rewarding good performance instead of punishing the slightest of errors.

I have been working at Uline full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Sparkling clean building, good team work from co workers, fairly decent pay and benefits. 16 personal days off per year.

    Cons

Micro management style; must have learned management from Kim Jong Il. A number of staff referred to upper management as "Dear Leaders."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Micro management does not work. You kill peoples spirit this way. Me thinks it is a cruel streak within you.

Decent pay but not enough to put up with the negative aspects

Former Employee - Warehouse Lead Management Trainee in Waukegan, IL

    I worked at Uline

    Pros

Decent pay. Not great by any means but slightly above average. 401k matching right on par again not above average.

    Cons

I know everyone else has already said this but there is a reason why, MICRO management to a whole new level. You have NO freedom at all. All employees must punch in and out for shifts and lunch breaks, this includes white collar jobs. You are given zero yes thats right zero sick days a year. You are given 16 paid days off a year which includes vacation, personal etcc.... If you take a sick day you must count against your vacation and are looked down upon by management. Warehouse management can be verbally abusive and swear at employees often. Overall, if you have a choice and it comes down to money take the lower paying job. You will be thankful down the road.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dont be so scared of the owners.
