Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think the egos are so large in corporate that they cannot see what is really happening below them.
I also think that management at every level does not care about the employees that work for them only the shareholders and sales are important.
The "great reviews" you see here folks are planted. Very few of the stores have the kind of management worthy of your hard work.
When you control stores by payroll hours vs. sales goals met, you are in trouble.
Many employees are placed in dangerous situations working late in crime ridden areas, without security.
Punishing employees for trying to protect your interests does not build loyalty.
Also treating employees like criminals, and letting theives walkis demotivating and demoralizing.
This company is really one of the worst retail environments ever!
And no amount of the occassional free nail polish and lipstick make it any better.
Also environmental protectionshould investigate every ULTA for the phenomenal amount of waste and discarding hazardous products unsafely into the city dumps.

Good opportunities to build clientele and get further education at the company's expense to help build your skills. You also get a good overall education in general beauty supplies. The store discount for employees is decent.

Management has a lot of goals to meet and that is always passed along to the employee. There is always a lot of pressure to produce. There seems to be a lot of turn-over in management due to this I believe.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would say treat the employees like people and not numbers. Look at the big picture and try to keep your employees happy by working reasonable and dependable schedules so they have a better attitude about going to work. Switching schedules on a regular basis without discussing it with the employee doesn't make good sense. Everyone has to have a life balance and be able to make plans in advance they can count on. Give proper notice before scheduling mandatory meetings. A couple of days notice isn't enough to arrange for child care or rearrange appointments or plans that have already been made.
