I have been working at Uni-Select

Pros

If you can hack the work environment, they definitely need help. Plenty of room to contribute. It pays the bills.

Cons

There are too many cons to list, and if anyone in a managers' position read anything negative about the company they would disregard it. People are just too busy to make any real changes, and most people don't really care to make change unless they can make money from it. Too many chiefs. Too little respect. Nothing will change.

I have been working at Uni-Select

    Pros

    Its a job, thats it.

    Cons

There is very little positive reinforcement ever. Upper management is clueless. Always expect stores to do more with less; people, inventory, ect. They never hear the street speaking to them.
Dictatorial and degrading place to work. I have never worked anywhere where overall morale is lower. Very depressing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the people at the top or risk not being here is five years. Encourage employees to offer suggestions and react to them. This is a store driven company that is being run as though it was a warehouse driven company.

    I worked at Uni-Select

    Pros

Plenty of work and chalenges for accountants. Presently implementing a new ERP system will make the future very interesting for growth opportunities.

    Cons

Extremly demanding work loads for everyone. Old school management, family owners and Canadian head office create a confused environment for decisssion making. Not very proacctive and a bumpy road ahead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your act toogeter and be more transparent. You cannot manage one business as if you had two. Is this a canadian owned busniess or a US driven one?
