Pros

District Service Managers get free gas. Pay was decent. Guys atmosphere. Not politically correct. Didn't have to worry about hurting anyone's feelings or corporate sensitivity training.

Cons

Upper management is HORRENDOUS. Completely disrespectful towards employees. I mean actively insulting and demeaning. Leadership doesn't care to actually solve problems. I'm not sure if they're incapable of it or if they just don't want to. They refused to believe that their methods weren't working and just plowed ahead yelling at everyone underneath them when their master plan didn't work out.

Advice to Management

First of all, respect your employees and their lives outside of work. This will drastically change the work atmosphere and morale. Your employees are miserable because they think you see them as slave labor. Secondly, be more open to feedback. Your employees have good ideas about how to fix problems, if you would only listen. Immediately dismissing them just adds to the consensus that you don't care and think you're above them.

    Pros

    The benefits are good compared to other companies in Springfield, MO area. That's about the only positive thing that comes to mind.

    Cons

    Long hours & meetings with employees that tore them down instead of built them up to succeed. Couldn't believe the way employees, especially Route Sales Reps, were verbally berated in front of others. There is no real respect for management because of this.

    Advice to Management

    Learn how to build a team with positive re-enforcement instead of negative. Be honest with employees and customers. Give words of encouragement. Be more concerned with customers and employees instead of 'numbers'. The numbers naturally get better when these are top priority. Promote based on performance & merit. Previous management was respected - current is definitely not.

    Pros

    Fair pay scale, Great training, Corporate is still a family run company that seems to care about customers needs and overall satisfaction.

    Cons

    Disconnect between the corporate and regional management. They do whatever it takes to get ahead even if goes against corporate values. They just want to cover their own butt.

    Advice to Management

    Ron and Cindy, Keep your fathers values alive. Talk directly with some of your sales people in different cities and skip the regional sales managers and local sales managers and you will see the true disconnect.
