This is one big company stuck way back in the dark ages.

Pros

I did like my local management. Large product offering competitive in the market.
They do put a lot of effort into the sales training.

Cons

Like I said stuck in the past. Unwillingness to streamline and modernize the sales process.
Nationwide quotas set for reps, like city x is expensive as city y. Unrealistic!
Always told management is their support sales, but never saw the proof.
MICRO-MANAGEMENT

Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

You never really end up working late.
The in-house chef makes some great food.

    Cons

    Professional Development is strongly discouraged.

Non sales employees are treated like cattle.

Stuck in the 1950's corporate culture.

    Pay is low.

Health Insurance is terrible. No one really takes it and it doesn't cover much.

In IT you spend a lot of time working on something only to have all that work thrown out the window
    repeatedly.

Management will often overlook employee recommendations on technology in favor of a more
expensive IBM solution that meets only a quarter of the requirements.

Middle and upper management is run like a frat house.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to you employees. They often have good ideas that could save millions in cost.

Send IT staff to training designed for their skill level.

Look at IT as a support center, not a cost center. Without IT your plants would shut down. Create an environment to foster ideas instead letting employees become jaded.
