I have been working at UniFirst

    Pros

Unifirst has a great product and great benefits. There seem to be plenty of opportunity for advancement within the company.

    Cons

The senior management at Unifirst is stuck in 1983. They believe the road to success is cold calling 20-30 people a day without any direction or purpose. Unifirst is not as concerned about their salepeople being successful. They are concerned about you being successful using their outdated model of selling. You spend six weeks in a training program learning word tracts and scripts and learn very little about the product or why it is better than the competitors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For a company that touts itself as being green, we sure do waste a lot paper in the many, many reports we print out, as well as a ton of gas running up and down the road cold-calling.
