the work hours are fairly flexible outside of core hours
The company still has reasonable benefits like medical and dental coverage

Cons

outsourcing, cost cutting, and benefits going down in last 3-4 years
limited career opportunities

Advice to ManagementAdvice

no clear profit and loss accountability, results in lots of finger pointing among different groups.

    Pros

Colleagues are amazing. Tireless in getting the job done to ensure a happy customer. Everyone wears multiple hats these days with <200 employees in the USA.

    Cons

Lack of leadership, strategy, communication, office locations, collaboration, and culture. No respect for loyalty or committment to customer satisfaction. OpenScape UC is riddled with issues. All management is concerned with is the sale. Not concerned with customer or employee satisfaction. Management will promote and market big wins. However behind the scenes, compensation/commission payouts are messed with by raising quota after the sale is complete. This practice of fighting to get paid on deals is a major issue across the county right now. Both demoralizing and exhausting. It doesn't seem like anyone in management is supportive. I have never seen such a high degree of unhappy employees. I recently heard someone who left the company say once "...the only people left at Siemens are the ones who haven't found a new job yet". Something to think about.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look back at the history of this once great company; examine what worked to create a culture of success where employees and customers were happy. Once you have a good understanding of this put the appropriate initiaties into practice. Warning: May require complete change out of management to do so; top to bottom.

    Pros

The current CEO is trying to right the ship

    Cons

Frequent layoffs and low morale. Mid and lower level Management seems incapable or unable to make even simple decisions. Overall the organization is top down driven and very slow moving,. it often lacks transparency, honesty, integrity, creativity, energy and clear communications.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on your customers, they hold the key, all you have to do is listen.
