Pros

Union Bank is led by a CEO that has built a strong leadership team that lives by the company values. They are making the right investments to grow the bank in the right ways. The company is doing a good job competing in its markets.

Cons

The bank is going through some growing pains and should focus more on customer services.

    Advice to Management

On the retail end, some branch managers will really hold you back in career growth. They will work you like a dog and hope you don't quit because they don't want to lose you from the branch. Place more emphasis on promoting top performers in there respective positions or expect them to eventually part ways with the company for better job offers. Company used to make up for lack of atms/branches by offering superior products to the big banks. Now bottom line is about more money in top executives pockets. They have reduced an already small staff in each branch. I left after the company had just laid off people from every retail branch. Lines built up and service dropped exponentially in a short span of 2 months. Prior to the lay off company also got rid of free accounts with no requirements. Followed suit with big banks, but lacked the convenience of big banks. One small example, they just started offering mobile deposits, and are now in the process of getting envelopes atms at every branch.
