I have been working at Uniqlo as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Meet New people (but that will happen wherever you go)
    - 30% off products and promotion products
    - The lanyard?
    - You get an hour unpaid break?

    Cons

    Where shall I start ...
    - They expect the advisers to do absolutely everything from cleaning the toilets to tagging the stock.
    - You have to pay for your Uniform before you get paid (not good when you have no money)
    - You have a daily rota, that you need to write down - which means it is very regimental. For example, if you are supposed to be in the fitting room from 1pm - 3pm and your shifts ends at 3pm and the person covering you has not appeared yet, you have to wait until they come! Leaving late! Not good at all.
    - You have to wear a pack and carry around scissors, measuring tape, notebook and a pen.
    - You can have extreme shifts, from early in the morning (7 am) - just to clean for 3 HOURS!
    - The team brief is more like a cult. We all have to chant at the end and then say something in Japanese and then bow! Its too intense for retail ... Also you need to write down the sales targets and promotions in your pad and the top best sellers. It's just a waste of time.
    - The managers seemed friendly at the interview, but they are definitely not friendly. More like fake! They are very demeaning and unfriendly.
    - The silver customer advisors are pretty much the same as other customer advisors but they are more up themselves and they just get to wear their own Uniqlo clothes.
    - When the store gets busy, it is really unorganised.
    - NO ORGANISATION WHATSOEVER! - The runner basically does everything, running the clothes out, puts it away and sorts it. This is not good. Their should be a sorter, a greeter, and then the advisors would put the clothes back in their sections.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get CLEANERS! Customer Advisors are not professionals ... you do not need 3 hours to clean.
