I worked at Unisource Worldwide full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not a bad commute, some nice people

    Cons

Politics, unfair practices and enforcement of policies. Working hard does not pay off at this company. Boys club environment.

    Advice to Management

Stop threatening people with their jobs. The threat of being fired becomes a welcome concept after a while. Too many people looking to stab each other in the back. Management should promote teamwork, improve the culture in Itasca. The high turnover is not beneficial to anyone.

I worked at Unisource Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of my co-workers were great. We helped each other out and did what we could to make the best of a bad situation.

    Cons

The environment was so horrible. There is an undercurrent of fear that permeates the office. You are under a constant threat of being written up or reprimanded - often for things you never knew were a policy violation. The threat of losing your job was often insinuated.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like children. 99% of your employees are hard workers who do their best for the company. Stop allowing a few unprofessional idiots to repeatedly get away with violating policies - and never have any consequences. Just because one person can't be an adult, doesn't mean you punish the who group. Deal with the problem and focus on the good people who want to be there and want to do a good job. If you treat people with respect, they will work even harder to help the company.
