I have been working at Unisys full-time for less than a year

Pros

Most of the techs here are knowledgeable and they can teach you a thing or 12

Cons

advancement is slow, if you are a contracted worker, conversion is never going to happen.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

base your decisions on advancement not solely on attendance, but on qualifications.

I have been working at Unisys

    Pros

I'd say the best are the hours and schedules offered as well as the different projects which are available to work in

    Cons

the biggest con I have so far is advancement seems to be very slow and very political, as it is with any job I guess.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Occurrences happen. It's a way of life. It's going to happen. I think Management passes on some of their best candidates due to their occurrence policies.

I worked at Unisys full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Go home when you finish early
    Mileage reimbursement
    Lots of easy work
Great co-workers, everybody is in the same situation and understands what you are going through

    Cons

    Frustrating customer
    Frustrating management
    Frustrating client
    Frustrating machines
Being hired by Unisys from Contractor is almost worse than staying a contractor
    Low pay rate
Management constantly chest beating and finding new ways to make you do more work for less
You don't get paid for standby
You don't get paid if you go home early and sit on standby
You are required to be on standby while not working calls between 9am - 530pm

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Calm it down, stop claiming you were once a tech. Techs are the face of the company and under constantly high pressure and stress. Pissing them off is not wise.
