United Airlines Aircraft Maintenance Tech:   (Current Employee)

Pros

It is one of the few places where a person will be paid to learn. There are some very good people working at this company. Unfortunately, they have been screwed over many times during there tenure at UAL that they now really don't care. If you can ever get on a flight, the flight benefits can be wonderful. Flying first class internationally can be a real treat. I have seen some of the best places in the world flying on United.

Cons

You are working for a dead company. People are beat down, management is hording the carrots and giving only the stick to the employees. It is not a secret that Tilton wants to sell the company, so an employee never knows how much job security he or she has. You have to work alot of nights and alot of weekends until you get enough seniority to bid a shift that doesn't require it. It can take a toll on family life and a persons heath.

Advice to Senior Management

Leave, please.....we are begging you to leave. How much money do you need before you will just leave?
