Things are improving after the merger with Continental but they are still very political with many muddy processes

Facinating industry
Pride in the brand
Flight benefits
Salary
Front-line pride
Readiness of the front line to help and support each other

Cons

Very political
Angry and resentful employees who have dedicated their lives to this company but lost their pensions during bankruptcy
Leadership turnover has people tuning out of implementing changes because they feel it will change again shortly
Lack of transparency
Constant directive to cut expenses and not capitalize any projects to improve internal tools, systems and infrastructure

Encourage the free flow of ideas
Invest in tools and technology for both customers and employees

    I worked at United Airlines full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great Training and competitive benefits I lived in several great bases, and on the West Coast, as well as Miami, D.C., and London, England. Pros are that you get to travel the world, on their dime.

    Cons

    Hard to live on small "B" scale salary the first 5 years. Heavy equipment to haul and to use on aircraft- Carts are 200 lbs- Cons are also jet lag

    Employees need to have better pay on "B" and "A" scale..

    Pros

    Flight Bennefits And Health Bennefits We Do have Events that Pick up Morale, certain crews you work on is like a family atmosphere.

    Cons

    No more pensions after bankruptcy the constant worry of them farming our work out and losing our job, not always trusting management.

    Listen to your workers when they are trying to give you advice that will improve the operation.
