United Airlines – “Summer graduate intern”

Pros

The organization is full of extremely bright people. The culture promotes use of the amazing flight benefits and the hours are very manageable but vary by group. The organization is marketing and operations focused but finance plays a distinct role.

Cons

Managers were hit and miss. Mine were good but others I worked with had very poor ones. Also, bonuses are unlikely as airlines are rarely profitable in the long term.

Advice to Senior Management

Its important to keep smart people challenged and busy. Many of the managers succeeded in this, but some ignore employees and let them go long periods of time without any meaningful work.
