Pros

-First-class research
-Beautiful campus (Vancouver is a beautiful city and UBC is in one of the best spots in the region)
-Relaxed environment (Employers and colleagues are friendly)
-Learning opportunities (In and out of classrooms and labs)

Cons

-Cost of living
-Depending on your research interests, UBC might not be for you
-Long hours (not a problem if you are self-motivated)
-Parking is extremely expensive
-Will have to look elsewhere for better opportunities eventually
