I have been working at United Space Alliance

Pros

Salary and benefits at one time were competitive, Working with astronauts and other "space" figures

Cons

company too concerned with numbers regarding title vii and not enough about profit and running a successful venture, company will overlook more qualified employees to fill a certain hr quota, compensation is declining, benefits have gone in the gutter

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open door policy, forthcoming with company info to employees, less micro-managing, morale is the key

    Pros

Big company allowed mobility between organizations. Good salary and benefits package, fair flexibility on hours. Working for the space shuttle program was wonderful.

    Cons

USA added it own bureaucracy on top of NASA's making it difficult to get anything done

I worked at United Space Alliance

    Pros

Interesting work and great people. The pride of the level of involement each person had in sending astronauts is something that all USA employees share in common.

    Cons

As a government contractor USA's future is heavily dependent on the politics of the day. Everything is always politically correct.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

USA was not quick enough to realize that the expertise need to pursue new business remained with the owning companies (Boeing and Lockheed Martin) and if they wanted to be a player they needed to go outside to find capture managers.
