I worked at United States Space & Rocket Center as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Meeting a lot of wonderful people (the counselors) and the kids for the most part were great.
Working with SciVis week was an incredible experience. Learned a of interesting things that I did not know I had an interest in. It was cool meeting a lot of astronauts and celebrities.

    Cons

The hours!!! There is no such thing as a break. Also, if the managers (one redhead in particular) didn't like you, you had no hopes to cross train. It was really cliquey and the behavior was actually kind of encouraged.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know that all the employees have something different to offer. All counselors should be crosstrained with everything. Pitting space camp counselors against the aviation challenge ones was a bit frustrating at times.
