I worked at United States Steel full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good money and benifits. Thats about it for the "pros".

    Cons

The ten years I was there at Fairfield Works I trained three managers.. Kids hired straight out of college. I saw tens years of waste and mismanagement. Fired for attempting to get a manager to do his job. Safety is a joke.. Been gone two years, best thing that has happened to me in a while. Dont see how the place is still running

    Advice to Management

Leave and find a job flipping burgers...

I worked at United States Steel as a contractor (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nothing I cannot say one good thing about this mill

    Cons

. They put people in Pittsburgh with no degrees. They must really be hard up. Management doesn't care about your personal life. BEware people running this company do not have degrees they just put people in a seat and call them managers I jumped ship for Another steel company and encouraging others to do the same

    Advice to Management

Get some good managers with degrees to run the company
