I worked at United Way part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    -Great people
    -Laidback and friendly atmosphere
    -Excellent work/life balance
    -Welcoming of creativity and innovation

    Cons

-Since it's a non-profit, it is lower paying and may not have the best employee benefits

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue doing what you're doing. When you make your employees feel like they're all a part of the mission and welcome their suggestions and ideas like you do, you really make this a fantastic place to work. That's exactly what you've done!

I worked at United Way full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Family oriented and friendly workplace, the chance to help people in need, the chance to volunteer, great place for a start up career.

    Cons

Not able to move up the ladder, Salaries are low because its a non profit organization, Upper management needs to follow thru on their promises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should follow thru with implementation on the classes staffs are sent to attend. Changes should be made for the advantage of the entire organization not just management only.
