I worked at United Way as an intern

Pros

Great staff-supportive and friendly, doing good work, and flexible. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, people were close like a family and a strong sense of teamwork was pervasive.

Cons

A little bit frustrating to be kept in an office all day, away from the people that the money is helping. Also there was not always enough work to do in forty hour week and staff often was on Facebook or gmail.
