Pros

You have more freedom to do your job with out some one standing over you.
Generally speaking management gives you the benefit of the doubt on any mistake made.

Cons

The wrong employees often get promoted when they shouldn't be.
Job is very repetitive.
They pride themselves on flexibility when they really are not.

    Pros

The company is growing so job security is there. Employee retention is poor so new positions are constantly cropping up.

    Cons

When I started they advertised that the position was a 40 hr per week job. In reality you should expect to work on weekends and on your paid time off. Don't expect work life balance here. Don't expect compensation for the long hours. You will be on salary and they will take advantage of that fact every way that they can. Clients are allowed to walk all over the company like a door mat, even at the expense of the staff's personal lives. If it wasn't for the recession most of the staff would quit in a heart beat. The jobs just aren't out there right now. A lot of people are just waiting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management went through culture training. We're all still waiting for management to live the new culture. Walk the talk. Don't just talk culture training. Do it.

    Pros

High standards for quality of work.
    Diversity.
    Big on education.
    Employee Feedback.
Corporate Values that are people focused where they were formerly production focused.

    Cons

Changes is direct reporting happen quite often and due to restructuring of the business as opposed to career progression.
Not all management walks the walk- setting the example in regard to company values and culture as it is presented.
Vital Signs surveys are not taken as seriously in all departments.
Not the greatest in customer service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to know your people. I don't even know what Helmsly looks like and I have never been to a meeting/ town hall with anyone over my bosses boss. I work in a fairly large office in Frederick, Md.
