Top execs are so disconnected from the front-line, it's scary. Co has potential but current mgmt is killing it.

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good benefits, stability, PTO, and company has potential for greatness/market share if sr. mgmt. took a few minutes off the golf course to do their jobs.

    Cons

Out of touch (sight, and mind) executive management. Bureaucracy is incredible ... rivals government. So massive, they let entire divisions wither due to lack of oversight, inability to streamline management in any remotely effective way. Almost no opportunity for advancement because no one who matters knows who you are. Exceptional performers seem to go elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a conversation with staff on the front line once in a blue moon. No one is going to offer honest feedback on a "town hall" meeting in front of you, God, and 18,000 others who are dialed in. Another suggestion ... take care of the performers, and they'll continue to take care of your bottom line. As a public company, we all see the outstanding results (financials) of our labors ... consider retaining those who bring in the revenue. Put your money where your mouth is. Your "appreciation" of a great quarter doesn't pay the bills.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
