    Pros

Lots of jobs, company is growing

    Cons

Stressful, bureaucratic, some of the most narcissistic leaders I've ever encountered, treat mid and lower level employees like dirt. Culture is impersonal and unhealthy. They are trying to improve the culture, but it is slow to take effect.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Respect all employees

Great Co-workers, nice location, out of touch Sr. Mgmt, no life balance, HIGH turnover

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Irvine, CA
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Irvine, CA

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time

    Pros

Location (Orange County), Landscaping is nice, weather is good, free tea in breakroom

    Cons

Sr. Mgmt is out of touch b/c they have no idea how the work is done. They ask for your opinion but don't really listen. Middle mgmt is powerless and no real changes ever happen until everyone quits but then too little too late.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The truth hurts but you gotta face it. Listen to what employees are saying and do something about it. Find another job if you aren't going to do anything to help your employees. Look at process improvements and empower the people who actually know what they are doing to make the changes. Have faith in your workers. They keep you employed. Listen to what they are saying and what they need and give it to them. Tell governance to put their money where their mouths are or else they will put the company in the gutter and they'll be out of jobs too. Tell other depts to stop passing the buck. And lastly hold yourselves and others accountable. This company's downfall will be its inability to hold anyone including sr. mgmt accountable for anything that happens. Everyone just blames someone else. Send a message and fire some VPs for a change. It might turn things around. Its the legacy RxSol and Pacifcare people who are holding this company back. You know who they are. Do something about it.
