Pros

Great diversity of people in the workplace (age, race, sex and personality). Good work and life balance. Allows telecommuting.

Cons

United has become very large and it is hard to navigate in such a highly matrixed environment. Leadership does not do well with communicating strategy at the division level where accomplishments are supposed to happen. There is poor implementation planning and execution of said company strategy. Role definitions are vague and there's not much definition on career pathing and development.

Advice to Senior Management

Management needs to communicate down and plan at the division/team level to actually execute the big picture. Career development and pathing needs to be defined.
