I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Some spaces within United Health Group enable a great deal of growth due to the challenges of such a large organization and how it has come together through acquisition. For the right person, there are endless opportunities to seek out new challenges.

Cons

The breadth of organizations make it challenging to step back and see the full picture. Too often it seems that the answer that looks good is enough and it can be a real struggle to get people past the first impression to the real problems which are much harder to solve for without tough choices.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Greater attention needs to be paid across the board to bloated areas of the organization to avoid cost cutting in areas which are as lean as they can be.

I worked at UnitedHealth Group full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

They offered comprehensive training with a great environment for learning, great co workers, the trainers did a great job and offered good feedback about progress, positive environment. There seemed to be a plenty of pathways to advance out of the call center within a year.

    Cons

While this seemed to be one of the better call centers I have been in, the high pressure, overly bureaucratic environment of call centers in general is s definite con. Low pay considering the amount of knowledge and level of detail needed to perform the job.
