Pros

Huge company; vast resources; ability to gain experience, grow, and develop (depending on a number of factors); full benefits offered; Fortune 500 company

Cons

Benefits are expensive (especially considering UnitedHealth Group is an insurance company); poor compensation (weak salary); poor developmental opportunities (company is too fragmented)

Advice to Management

Pay attention to and act upon employee feedback and requests. There is no reason UnitedHealth Group can't be an excellent company to work for.

    Pros

Having the capabilities to work at home.

    Cons

Not being allowed to work from home at all but still required to take laptop home everynight just in case a "Natural Disaster" happens and the office building is destroyed and then your expected to work from home. Health insurance sucks! The health insurance at UHC is the worst I have ever encountered. Raises are few and far between.

    Advice to Management

Work on better benefits for your employees.

    Pros

For a clinician it's a 9-5. Employees get discount on UHG stocks

    Cons

    The micromanagement,

The lack of ethics, they hire license clinicians, but ask them not to stay inside their ethic, like calling professional boards or calling protective services.

The disorganization they do not believe in cross training.

They use a lot a therapists for managers, but they have never taken a management class

    They play favorites with employees

    Advice to Management

When you come up with a new idea, make a discussion not a statement. Let the people who will implementing the idea tell you the kinks and weakness before it starts, thus you will not have a team working on a illogical unpractical idea.
