Pros

Flexible schedule and ability to work at home is nice. I was happy with the pay that I started with though they need to work on their bonus and yearly increases.

Cons

Very poor management in all aspects of the company that I've interacted with. Little to no initial or ongoining training. Poor communication no ability to provide feedback. Being owned by UHG can be considered a huge con due to the complete ineptitude of the IT department.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want honest answers on the annual vital signs survey then it should not be tied to how much an employee will get for their annual increase.

    Pros

    Optum has good benefits once you get to a certain grade level --fabulous benefits for the top grades. At one time this was a great place to work. But they forced out Dawn Owens and after that it became all about greed.

    Cons

    Got rid of or demoted the best people in several rounds of lay offs and restructure.
    Very political--have to be from the St Louis office to be promoted.
    Both clinicians (Care Advocates, clinical program managers) and members have lost out in Jelinick's slash and burn.

    Get rid of CEO. Start over with reorg
