Pros

Innovate company - cutting edge and trendsetting in healthcare - Believes in cost saving. Large corporation with many facets. Uses international employees

Cons

Focus on numbers not people. Upper management says what you want to hear and middle management puts the foot on your neck and makes you produce at any cost. The deliverable will be achieved by ANY means necessary.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Connect more with the actual workforce. Take an interest in the employee be a more family based corporation. Have a heart when dealing with employees. Life happens while we are working to achieve the bottom line.

    Pros

    Big corporation should provide big opportunity but that is not the case when the top leadership sets the agenda to enrich themselves at the literal expense of the corporation's long term health--and integrity of corporate policies and employees. UHG is aggressively acquiring yet does not care to properly onboard the acquisitions or correct their completely out of compliance processes. UHG is only interested in growing their market cap through such reckless acquisition. They are now listed on largest market cap list on stock exchange which makes them an almost certain holding for many retirement funds, thus boosting UHG's stock price artificially and with no regard for proper fundamentals of the corporation, itself. UHG pays slightly higher because you will need it to pay extra out of pocket for their terrible benefits. They are shifty from the start!

    Cons

    Every year on the annual survey, 99% of the employees rate the health insurance choices provided by United Healthgroup health insurance company as the most unsatisfactory of all! such a fact bespeaks volumes as to what regard or value that UHG actually holds any employee. Potential employees beware! If you don't do your due diligence on this company, you will get the short end. It is like anything else, "do your homework first, before making a commitment or placing your livelihood dependent upon such a proven lackluster employer!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    "The bigger they are--the harder they fall!" There is a movement to hold executives accountable for blatant dishonest policies that only enrich themselves--by taking all the executive's compensation away for those years--holding them personally accountable. No more free rides on the backs of the taxpayers and employees while the executives walkaway with hundreds of millions in ill gotten gains. UHG already was scandalized by a stock options scheme by its CEO. Those days of a free ride are over!

    Pros

    Coworkers were great! Good physical working environment. Location close to home. Mid-level management was pretty good overall. A good job for someone fresh out of school or looking for an entry level position.

    Cons

    Upper management is lacking ethics and direction is skewed. They only care about the bottom line and do not mind driving the support workers into complete exhaustion. In their view, the profit is first and family is last. They have no problem blaming the support staff for their own misguided attempts to cheat the clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Grow some hair and own up to your mistakes! Stop throwing your workers under the bus for your screw-ups!
