Pros

UHG offers very competitive pay. There are many varied positions, and it is a good place to work if you enjoy challenges.

Cons

The culture is very cut-throat. Management has high expectations, but often offers little support. They definitely believe in the stick, rather than the carrot.

Advice to Management

Abandon your ridiculous pretense that the culture has changed. When push comes to shove, performance is the value that rules the day.

    Pros

Balancing the necessary demands of a large bureaucracy, while allowing room for the flourishing of creative thought is difficult at best. UHG has done a fair job of that in it's attempt to create an in-house creative services group.

    Cons

Sadly, the bureaucracy won. The ideas were more client driven than generated out of the creative team. Clients know their products and their benefits from the inside ( a good thing) but tend not to view things from the consumer's perspective. The result is a ho-hum response from the consumer.

    Advice to Management

You had some talented people, but failed to really let them loose.
