Solid company, largest player in the market, but lets good people go too often

Pros

work-life balance (as long as you're not in finance)
Culture was brutal years ago, but getting much better
New Office Space

Cons

I just saw some of the best leaders I work with get laid off, again and again
Typical big-company politics
HR is worst I've experienced at the Fortune 500 level. Should get better with new leader

Advice to Management

Focus on building people along with business. HR is currently "not in the room" because they are seen as "not essential" to real decision making
Mobility across the organization is not great, and therefore great leaders get "stuck"

    Pros

Work from Home, good general benefits with 401k match

    Cons

Salaried, given the work of 3 people to accomplish in 8hr day making it actually be an 18-20hr day

    Advice to Management

Start to really listen to employee feedback instead of telling employees how they should respond in their yearly vital sign surveys. Claim to encourage employee suggestions and involvement but really don't want to know. Have employees who actually do the work help in corporate decisions when changing processes/procedures.
