I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The people in my immediate work unit were great. Trained employees from all over the country remotely - very innovative system allowed trainer to view employees' computers while performing training exercises.

    Cons

Extremely unstable work enviroment - Jobs and departments are created and dismantled without any regard for the employees. The number of jobs would be reduced in a department and the everyone had to reapply for their own jobs regardless of the amount of time at the job.
Benefits for a health insurance company are extremely poor. No 401K match.
Salaries are low ffor area and level of experience required
Paid time off is a "Grant" so when you leave they don't pay you for the unused acrued days
I couldn't get out of there fast enough and have never looked back - worst place I have ever worked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees like human beings and not like a production input. There is no loyalty and a great deal of fear.

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

No much -- oh yes: there are many Exit doors at UHG! Use them!

    Cons

How much time do you have? Every employee I talk to he/she is scared of management craziness -- TRUE: crazy women in charge of...nothing (a screwed up offshore). Intolerance, disorganization, ignorance and rudeness.

    Welcome to UHG.
