Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your people, promote from within. consider a succession planning program. If you don't know what that is, succession planning is a process for identifying and developing internal people with the potential to fill key business leadership positions in the company. Succession planning increases the availability of experienced and capable employees that are prepared to assume these roles as they become available. Taken narrowly, "replacement planning" for key roles is the heart of succession planning. Effective succession or talent-pool management concerns itself with building a series of feeder groups up and down the entire leadership pipeline or progression. Let your staff know there is some where for them to go in the company or they'l find it outside.

Working at United Healthcare is very much like I would imagine assembly line work.

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The stability of the company is a plus, wages are good, the telecommuting is a very big plus. The staff are great to work with and most of the managers are there to help you.

    Cons

Upper management is not real open to ideas. There is disconnect between the company values and the reality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider sitting with staff to understand what their job is or as a reminder if it is something you have done in the past. This will allow focus to be placed on what could benefit work flow and increase productivity. And stop selling the business concept to nurses we will never put business before caring for people.
