I worked at Universal Music Group

Pros

Good ompensation, great people, fun work. Everyone has an upbeat attitude, but they are probably after your job.

Cons

Politics, job stability, poor strategy. Everyone is trying to game everyone in the music industry. This place is good, but no exception.

I worked at Universal Music Group

    Pros

Probably the best reason to work for the Universal Music Group would be the heralth benefits of such a large corporation.

    Cons

There are too many negatives to list but I can start with Poor Upper Management (i.e. lack of qualified leadership and direction), the lack of HR presence alone is detrimental to the health of the work environment. UMG has gone from being a leader in the music industry to being a slow, monolithic, outdated, inexperienced, financially strapped, poorly managed dinosaur that will eventually have to break down in size in order to keep up with the technological advances and entreprenurial ideologies that will help this industry survive in changing times.

I have been working at Universal Music Group

    Pros

A fun, party-like atmosphere helps keep your mind off how the music industry is completely collapsing.

    Cons

Half of my co-workers were great--brilliant, creative, and all-around good people. The other half were complete morons who didn't know the first thing about anything, let alone how to sell music in the 21st century. To boot, the moronic half seems to be the ones getting promoted, mostly through vicious backstabbing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

First: EMBRACE DIGITAL!!!!! UMG has a lot to learn about how people are consuming music these days, and for all appearances, they either don't care or are clueless.
