Pros

great hours considering if you were only hired part time, payed every friday. free park admission, discounts.

Cons

overworked, favoritism by management, extremely unfair to part time seasonal/casual employees. no holidays off. hired Part timers can easily do more then 30 hours a week, but get no benefits like hired full timers includes no health insurance, no vacation, no PTO, no paid leave... nothing. yet they will easily schedule you 30 sometimes even 40 hour weeks randomly if not all the time.

Advice to Management

employees shouldnt have to kiss managements ass to get time off, managers shouldnt play favorites among employees, and treat the other ones like crap, by over working them and giving them the last draw on what holidays they can have off. have some respect that some of your employees are putting in more hours then you are any given week. have a heart around christmas, instead of making your all your new part timers work both christmas eve and day.

    Pros

Free admission into park, free tickets for family/friends, etc

    Cons

It really is just typical retail issues. Nothing out of the norm

    Advice to Management

    More communication overall

  2. I truly enjoyed this place. Your job could be MUCH worse.

I worked at Universal Orlando Resort part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I got paid to entertain guests via hugs, high fives, meet and greets, autographs, dancing, etc. the highlight of my day was getting to meet a Make A Wish Foundation kid, or a Give Kids the World kid and seeing their faces light up or even their parents faces, because if only for a minute, nothing else in the world mattered. Nobody was sick or in pain. They were just happy to meet you.

    Cons

The days are long and exhuasting. You sweat a heck of a lot until your body gets used to the heat. And the constant changing in and out of a costume becomes very monotonous.

    Advice to Management

I dont have too much negative to say about this place. The supervisors were all nice and fair, though sometimes getting a hold of a manager wasnt the easiest thing to do. Higher wages would be nice, and more ergonomically designed costumes would DEFINITELY be a plus. The costume designers never have to wear their designs out in the heat for a day or more, so they dont know the negatives to them.
