I have been working at Universal Orlando Resort part-time for less than a year

Pros

Never know what I'll be doing or experiencing every day. Management is joyful and supportive. Love my job as Special events.

Cons

The pay is low. That is really the biggest drawback, we work very hard and get little pay. Oh and also there is a lot of walking, average of 3 miles a day on concrete. But the parades are so much fun, physically ache when I get off.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep smiling and promoting us. Love how they tell us what a great job we did, almost every event.

I have been working at Universal Orlando Resort part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You get to work where everyone comes to enjoy their day. Management was well trained and treated their direct reports well with an open ear and respect.

    Cons

The time that you must take too I up your uniform and change is not factored in to the length of your workday. Gotta build it in as communing time. Because you don't actually clock in until you reach your department

I worked at Universal Orlando Resort full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

free admission to the parks, meet interesting people from around the world, get to see famous people on occasion. Also free admission to Seaworld and Busch Gardens and Halloween Horror Nights. Also Universal has a lot of big name concerts that you also get to see for free. Lots of room for advancement in different departments and different parks

    Cons

low pay, long hours with few breaks in between. i actually didn't mind the hours but sometimes rotations could get messed up then you are stuck in one spot forever. People can be rude even though they are on vacation and can get brutally hot in the summer if you are at an outside position

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think they are too strict with what they expect from their leads. It would be nice to every once in a while give them a status of their progress and what they need to do instead of demoting people for every little thing
