Former Employee - Attractions Lead in Orlando, FL

I worked at Universal Orlando Resort full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Will schedule around school.
Great perks (tickets, merchandise/food discounts, events)

    Cons

    Company shows preference to Entertainment
Can be difficult to be promoted.
    Inconsistent leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to be present more often to accurately be able to gauge the day to day operations of the attractions and their team members, this would help to promote the right people and to prevent those that can talk a good game from being the only ones promoted.

I have been working at Universal Orlando Resort as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Comp tickets, entertainment environment, free admission to park, cheap employee food, discounts, working with children

    Cons

Not the best pay, favoritism, hard to move up,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should pay more for base rates for the lower-paid employees. People that have to get yelled at by guests everyday because they tell them a character has to go in after a set is done should not get 7.75 an hour... they should be getting at least $8.50 or $9.00. The parking situation will hopefully be remedied... but shouldn't we have a structure that EVERYONE can use so we don't have to go through city walk? It adds on time to our day, and it feels like I am still working when I walk to my car because guests are everywhere.
