I needed them and they got an experienced professional for cheap!

I worked at University Research Co.

ProsAn OK place to work for young, entry-level professionals or executive level staff nearing retirement. Company is growing and therefor experiencing a lot of churn. Well educated staff with Masters (MPH) or working towards one, and many of them from reputable schools (Johns Hopkins, etc.). Company does want to push/improve the use of technology to communicate with their International offices. Decent benefits and holidays.

ConsThe company needs a better recognition system. Many people work hard and sometimes long hours and do not get the appreciation they deserve. Although, there are groups who do a better job than others. Lots of turnover due to growth and although well-educated, computer literacy/skills are poor to average at best.

Advice to Senior ManagementDesign a company-wide recognition system that can be used within groups/departments or company wide (ecards, etc., similar to a well known company I currently work for). Better starting salaries and raises.

Fast Paced Work Place that Takes the Passion Out of Public Health

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at University Research Co. full-time for more than a year

Pros: URC has large public health projects throughout the world and in general does good work. Lots of opportunity for business development work and travel. … Cons: Pay is low, and the benefits are far below the competition. Very high turn over rates that on the HQ side are normally about 30… Advice to Senior Management: Sure, it's a for-profit company, but you still need to retain qualified staff to work on those projects and win new ones.… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
