I have been working at University of Alberta

Pros

Nice students, motivated to do well. Salary and benefits are good.
Edmonton is a very friendly place to live.

Cons

Quality teaching not highly valued by the University, despite rhetoric. Workplace bullying problematic in several Departments, maybe that's just academia?

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please value the students and the teachers as much as you do the researchers. Students and teaching staff bring valuable income to the University and are the 'pulse' of daily University life.
