I have been working at University of Alberta part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As a graduate student, it is great getting experience working on actual research projects. I have the opportunity to work on national and provincial projects that gave me the skills that I am now relying upon to get a job. My supervisor was great--flexible and understanding.

    Cons

If you have a problem with your work, there are few people to whom you can turn. In the Faculty of Education, getting an assistantship is challenging.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that all students have the opportunity to receive assistantship.
