Pros

The only good thing is to be close to Rocky Mountains. The university itself does not have much to offer.

Cons

At least in my field (Electrical and Computer Engineering) there are no good seminars or any workshops beneficial to the work I do here. There should be at least one seminar/workshop per month by a top researcher from top university

    Pros

Moderate compensation. The payments are okay. The professors and the staff are helpful. The work load does not usually conflict with your studies

    Cons

There is not enough room for growth as a researcher because of the limited budget. Lots of cut-offs during the year

    Advice to Management

The management should put more effort in absorbing additional funding. Otherwise the university would lose many of its valuable staff.

  2. Pretty good opportunity

    Pros

Really good opportunity, industrial related research areas, abundant funding for even master students and booming economy here in Alberta.

    Cons

It usually takes more than 2 yrs to graduate, sometimes really challenging projects.
