- great university, very strong in research
- beautiful location within very livable city
- very good support for teaching development (TAG institute)

Cons

- low salaries make it difficult for teaching assistants to get by in Vancouver, which is an expensive city to live in

Quality of teaching assistants varies greatly between different departments. It should be controlled more tightly.
