I have been working at University of California Berkeley

Pros

Extremely flexible for students.
Tony, the tutorial coordinator, puts tutors needs first and usually has his door open if you need help
Loose definition of peer learning so that quiet study is an acceptable form of tutoring as well as hands-on help

Cons

The tutor meetings are extremely boring after you've gone to a few of them
Sometimes athletes cancel and you're unable to reach the amount of hours that you want

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the meetings shorter or change the format
Check ins are good but the meetings sometimes feel like just a formality
Also, it would be nice to know whether or not the tutor recaps of meetings are actually read!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support personnel lack respect for University mission, which is reflected in disparities in pay and management approaches. Faculty reign supreme although only modestly competent.
