    Pros

Some employees are extremely passionate about making a difference at this institution. Their work touches many lives including students, professors, researchers, and parents. It may not be the most efficient way to better education, but working here provides a means that is often hard to even find.

    Cons

Overwhelming inefficiency. There is a lack of people who are driven and take the initiative to better the system. However, there is always the looming question of whether their work to better the system is for naught, and if a system wide overhaul is what's needed. In the end, UC Berkeley is a place where many to fall into complacency and only a few ever make a difference.

    Advice to Management

Follow the model of for-profit companies that foster innovation. Do not be satisfied with employees who do the bare minimum, but instead, find in their place people who bring and follow through with new ideas that can actually create change.
