I have been working at University of California Berkeley full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It's great to work on the cutting edge with some of the top researchers in the world with a good amount of resources with which to conduct research. The university environment is quite nice and brings in many potential collaborators.

    Cons

Academic pay is low compared to industry. Sometimes there are campus politics to deal with and government funded research depends on continued support from the government.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Increase postdoc salaries.
