The actual work is satisfying but the organizational politics make the work environment less than desirable.

I have been working at University of Chicago full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

World-class faculty, very informative seminars, beautiful campus with many historical buildings, three weeks vacation/year instead of two for staff, multiple insurance options, easy public transportation to the campus during weekday rush periods

    Cons

surrounded by bad areas, poor median pay for science technologists compared to other top-rated universities, not very many places off of campus to eat, public transportation to the university on the weekends is difficult

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The best advice I can give is to really get into all of the labs while making rounds of the hospital and university; meet the staff and learn what they do. The work that everyone does is important, but the labs are one of the most important and forgotten about facilities.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
