Learn alot from real hands on experience in the lab

Cons

Pay isn't great, but the experience is well worth it

    I have been working at University of Houston full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Easy life, less pressure
    - Govt. job benefits like reduced tax, access to campus facilities (recreation center, library, books,etc)
    - More time to spend with family or anything else
    - Not so competitive environment
    - Ready to spend well on latest technologies

    Cons

    - Low paying
    - No competition, so depends on you how much you learn. If you are looking for personal growth
    - Management will be average
    - Will be irritating initially by the slow processes but later on you will get accustomed
