I worked at University of Illinois full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great facilities, lots of resources if you are doing research. Gym is excellent, I missed a lot.

Cons

pays are low and winter is cold, in the middle of nowhere.

I worked at University of Illinois part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Free meal with every shift, pretty easy jobs, can make friends with workers and environment allows for talking with others

    Cons

Monotonous work, no incentive for workers to do more than the minimum besides the threat of supervisors coming in and basing decisions about how much you work on 10 seconds of observation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to actually assess who is doing what work with more in depth monitoring of workers instead of doing a quick scan.

I have been working at University of Illinois

    Pros

Fair and friendly management. Good benefits. The U of I is a great place to work. I highly recommend it.

    Cons

Budget cuts and the current economy have reduced the number of positions that are available. I worked there during a much more stable economy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I can't think of anything that I would advise of. I enjoyed my time there and was sorry to leave when a lack of local funding caused my lay-off.
