I have been working at University of Illinois full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Experienced and knowledgeable professors
Plenty of student research jobs available to gain tons of experience in your field of interest
Very pretty campus (most of it, at any rate)

Cons

Massive workload in engineering - very little time for personal life
Somewhat expensive, especially for out of state people

Value your students more.

    There is nothing bad at all about working for NetMath, especially as a college student who is trying to find a way to make money.

    The engineering program is great and ensures students are well compensated. Many opportunities to work across fields. Everything depends on you and your advisor.

    Graduate school is graduate school. You're going to work hard for not much pay. Everything depends on you and your advisor.
